Courtney Mathieson is a 23 year old art student currently residing in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.

 

Coming from the small coastal town of Pacific Palms, Mathieson moved to Newcastle in 2010 to begin further education in the arts at The University of Newcastle. She successfully completed her Bachelor of Fine Art degree in 2013 and has just finished a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) 2014.

 

Mathieson's main interests are illustration, design and printmaking. While usually combining these practices to create multimedia artworks, she has a fine eye for detail and enjoys drawing intricate pieces. A majority of Mathieson's work consist of watercolour pencils and fine Artline pens on wood, paper, canvas and fabric.

 

Mathieson draws a lot of inspiration from her surroundings and current trends, being a lover for the beach, surfing, the ocean, trap music, fashion illustrations, glamour magazines, nudes, skate and street culture. This lifestyle is unintentionally portrayed throughout Mathieson's work as she creates detailed images of desirable women mixed with bizarre attributes.
